It's not a big surprise that I HATE paying retail price for ANYTHING and I mean ANYTHING!! It's such a thrill to know something is really pricey, but to snag it at a killer price, often times FREE!! This brings me to the topic of cheap entertainment. With 4 kids things can be quite pricey so I am always looking for it on the cheap. Here is a list of how we entertain, but keep it light on the pocketbook!!
**Free Days! The first Saturday of the month Denver Art Museum, Colorado History Museum and a few others have FREE admission. The first Tuesday of the month, The Children's Museum has free day from 4 p.m - 8 p.m.. Also, The Denver Zoo, The Museum of Nature and Science and The Botanical Gardens have free days. Check with your local communities. Many of these attractions offer free or discounted days.
**Movies!! We visit the local "Dollar Theatre." Wait a few weeks to watch your favorite movie, and pay only $2.50 to see it!! If we went to a "normal" theatre it costs at least $50 and that's just for tickets. This way we spend $15.00!!!! Check your local theatres for matinee pricing
**Water park!! Elitches and Water World costs us over $200 for just one day!! NUTS!!!! However there are parks that have their own mini water sprinklers, slides and the such for just $2.00 a person!! Such a better price!! However, if you do love Six Flags, get a few season passes. It saves a BOAT LOAD!!!
